Zinedine Zidane has announced his resignation as manager of Real Madrid, citing a loss of faith from the club and a disappointing season without a major trophy.

The announcement comes after a season in which Real Madrid finished second in La Liga and were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League in the semi-finals. Zidane also led Real Madrid to their 15th Champions League title, a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
