'Beetlejuice: The Musical' Haunts Broadway Once Again
Reimagined Gothic Tale Returns to the Stage

Based on Tim Burton's beloved film, "Beetlejuice: The Musical" is a haunting comedy that is now captivating audiences across the country. The musical, with music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect and book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager who befriends the mischievous ghost Beetlejuice.
The musical debuted on Broadway in 2019 and was nominated for eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. After a successful run, it closed in June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, "Beetlejuice: The Musical" is returning to Broadway on April 8th, reimagined for the stage.
The retooling, done since its out-of-town tryout in Washington, D.C., includes a host of plot twists and character tweaks. While Beetlejuice is a central character, the focus remains on Lydia Deetz, whose journey of self-discovery and acceptance amidst a dysfunctional family provides a relatable and heartwarming core to the story.
