Christian Donald Laettner (born August 17, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player. Born in Angola, Indiana, he attended Duke University, where he became one of the most decorated players in college basketball history.

College Career

Laettner's college career for the Duke Blue Devils was legendary. He helped lead the team to two national championships (1991 and 1992) and four Final Four appearances. His signature moment came in the 1992 national championship game against Kentucky, where he hit a buzzer-beating shot that is widely considered one of the most famous plays in college basketball history.

Professional Career

After a successful college career, Laettner was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1992 NBA draft.
